公鸡碗/起家碗

公鸡碗是广东独有特色的碗。公鸡碗也有“起家碗”之称，包含 “要发达致富的家中一定要有个公鸡碗才能起家” 的寓意。

为什么是公鸡？在最初的农耕社会，人们日出而作，日落而息，公鸡作为司晨，是人们生活的警钟。它们负责唤醒大家起身，开始一天的劳作。

The rooster bowl is a unique bowl in Guangdong. It is also called the family rising bowl, which implies that a rooster bowl must be present in a developed and rich family to start a home.

Why is it rooster? From the very beginning of the farming society, people started planting at sunrise and rest at sunset. The rooster served as the implication of daybreak and was a wake-up call for the people's lives. The rooster was the one that wakes everyone up and start the days' work.

煲汤 Simmered Soup

广东人最爱煲汤，可能与其潮湿暑热的地域性气候有着相当大的关系吧。煲汤的器皿很重要，宜选择质地细腻的砂锅，现在比较流行的是用瓦罐煲，至于炖品自然选择炖盅了。在操作上，煲汤其实很简单，只要原料搭配合理，将原料放入煲中，等沸腾后，小火慢煲即可，火候掌握在汤开着就可以，剩下的就是时间的问题了。广东人是习惯饭前喝汤的。

The Cantonese love to make soup, which may have a lot to do with its humid and hot regional climate. The soup utensils are of great importance. Choose a fine-textured casserole. Nowadays, it is much popular to use a crock pot. As for the stew, it is natural to choose a stew pot. In terms of operation, boiling soup is actually very simple. As long as the ingredients are properly matched, put the ingredients in the pot and wait for it to boil. Then, simmer it slowly. The heat is only when the soup is open. The rest is just a matter of time. The Cantonese are used to drinking soup before meals.

广东音乐最初流行于中国广东珠江三角洲，早期的主奏乐器包括笛子、唢呐等等，音色清脆明亮，节奏活泼欢快。广东的诸多乐曲是由戏曲过场音乐、民歌、民间器乐曲牌演变而来。广东音乐也吸收了江南和北方音乐以及中原古乐的因素，结合本地语言的特点而产生。

Cantonese music was originally a trend around Guangdong's Pearl River Delta and it has an upbeat tempo with crystal clear music. Back then, the leading instruments include the flute and suona horn etc. Many music pieces in Guangdong have evolved from opera music, folk songs, and folk instrumental music. It has also absorbed the elements of Jiangnan and northern music, as well as ancient music of the Central Plains, combined with the local language, thereby making it a whole new music.
